Absolutely loved this place, true hidden gem. We walked passed this place when looking for an evening meal, was definitely not dissapointed. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was fantastic. Portions are great and its all reasonably priced, will definitely be returning to this place again. Highly recommend for a meal to any staying in York, you will not be disappointed 😋.

We called in after a long day and a LOT of steps around the city, and enjoyed a cosy and delicious meal from the set menu. The food (pâté, garlic bread, pizza, risotto, brownie, and chocolate fondant) were all absolutely delicious, as were the mocktails, and the waitresses could not have been nicer. A memorable meal and a lovely spot we will revisit on our next trip.

Went in here an hour before they closed on a whim after the restaurant we wanted to go to was too close to end of day to serve. I didn't like the places aesthetic/decorations (too much plastic and mirrors for me, wasn't very classy) but I was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. I got the salmon risotto and was very happy to receive a full fillet atop my risotto rather than just a few scraps mixed in there. Our waitress was very nice and speedy. Prices were kind of expensive but most prices in York's centre are so 🤷‍♀️

I rarely write negative reviews, but From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that flavor was not a priority. Everything we ordered—from the mushroom starter to the main course—was under-seasoned, lacking any real depth or character. The ingredients tasted like they’d come straight from a freezer and hadn’t been properly introduced to a spice rack. Even the simplest dishes, like the pasta, managed to be both overcooked and underwhelming. Service was polite but indifferent, which mirrored the food: functional, but with no real warmth or passion. They do offer a gluten-free menu, which might seem like a plus—unfortunately, it’s not one I’d recommend. The gluten-free options were just as bland as everything else, with no creativity or attention to texture or flavor. The drinks were the best part of the experience but still nothing to write home about With so many great dining options available, I can’t see myself returning. It’s one thing to serve simple food—it’s another to serve food that’s simply dull.

Booked at D'Vine for an evening meal on 28/2/26. I had high hopes for the quality of food when walking in and reading some of the reviews. I'll start with the positives- the waitresses were very well mannered and made sure we felt looked after from the off. I ordered a fillet steak at £33, along with peppercorn sauce. I can honestly say I've never had a worse steak in my life. It was so bad that I would happily say a supermarket steak is better. I asked for it medium, which to be fair it came as requested. It was entirely tasteless, and was like eating a block of rubber. The peppercorn sauce was poorly made, it was far too thick, and barely would flow from the small jug. I'm not one to fuss or moan and and far from being stuck up, but this is an entirely honest appraisal of the expensive steak. My partner's pasta, in contrast, was very good. The spicy olive starter- zero spice. Annoyingly the optional service charge was appended to the final bill, which because I was annoyed with the steak quality, I asked to be removed. Overall an expensive evening, terrible steak, great pasta, nice service, and a decent setting.
